Who doesn’t love having more money? Well, in my opinion, that’s exactly what repurposing content helps you do. Every time you post your content on a different platform you open yourself up to a new stream of income! Who knows this technique might even bring you to 6 figure status if you play your cards right.

Why is repurposing content beneficial?

As stated before, repurposing content is beneficial because it opens you up to more available streams of income. In case you’re not sure why that’s important, the average millionaire has a minimum of 7 streams of income while the average person has 1. Let that sink in. Repurposing your content can be the difference between one brand deal and 30 or more brand deals.

Don’t believe me? Repurposing content also aligns with the 10x rule by Grant Cardone. To put the rule simply, whatever the average person seems enough you need to do 10 times that amount to guarantee success. Repurposing content allows you to have several audiences that enjoy the same content, because someone may love Instagram, but hate TikTok. That’s not a reason for them not to come in contact with your business though. As business owners, our job is to reach and connect with as many potential customers as possible and as often as possible. Repurposing content allows you to do that.

Which platforms pair well together?

Now that we’re all hyped up and ready to repurpose content, let’s talk about how we can pair platforms to make the most impact.

A rule of thumb is, the medium of your content must be the same throughout the platforms you choose. For example a good combination is YouTube and Instagram reels, because they are both video based. A bad combination is YouTube and Pinterest because that’s a video platform vs a photo based platform.

(Unless we’re talking about using snippets from your video as idea pins on Pintrest, that’s actually a fantastic pairing).

Here’s some examples of fantastic pairings:

– For video based content try TikTok, Instagram Reels, Pinterest Idea Pins, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Shorts, all coming from snippets of a larger YouTube Video.

-For photos you can combine Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook.

– For written content combine blog post, Twitter, Medium, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Quora.

How can you get the most from repurposing content?

Now that we have an idea of how to pair platforms let’s talk about how we can get even more from repurposing our content.

Repost your content every quarter (3 months), this way you remind your old audience of your product/service and you introduce it to your new audience! (Need help finding your target audience, we’ve covered that in this blog post.) This is a vital step in repurposing your content because on average it takes someone 7 times to see something before they take action. You would’ve done all that work, or lack thereof, for nothing if you don’t repost your content.

Key Takeaways

  • Repurposing your content allows you to interact with your audience more with less effort.

  • Make the most out of your content by posting it on several platforms that pair well together.

  • Repost your content every quarter.
